In 2012, one of the world's most prestigious art schools defined a new pedagogical paradigm by decompartmentalising the disciplines of architecture and industrial design. ECAL chez Le Corbusier is a meeting between a master and his students - between Le Corbusier and ECAL students. Elric Petit, head of the Bachelor's programme in Industrial Design at the ECAL, and Chris Kabel, professor at the ECAL, conceived and then produced objects for Le Corbusier's Villa "Le Lac" in Corseaux. The potential of the site, the inventiveness of the work and the quality of the work produced led naturally to the idea of an in situ exhibition. The constraints associated with the site (proximity to the lake, integration into the landscape) and the nature of the building (the first example of modern architecture in Switzerland, a historic monument of national importance) proved to be a real challenge for the students, and acted as a talent spotlight.
