Théodore Strawinsky (1907-1989) was a Russian-Swiss painter and musician, son of the renowned composer Igor Strawinsky. Born in Saint Petersburg, he spent his childhood immersed in a stimulating artistic environment. The Russian Revolution forced his family into exile, and after a stay in France, they settled in Switzerland in 1914.
Théodore studied painting at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva, where he refined his figurative style, influenced by Post-Impressionism and the pictorial movements of the early 20th century.
He regularly exhibited his paintings, finding increasing recognition for his artistic talent. His canvases demonstrate a sensitivity to light and form, capturing the essence of his subjects with a personal and expressive touch.
Settled in Switzerland, Théodore Strawinsky lived a discreet yet creatively rich life. His pictorial work deserves to be rediscovered for its quality and originality. He passed away in Geneva in 1989, leaving behind a body of pictorial works and valuable writings on his father's music.
